I picked up the Deuce in Irwinton, Georgia on March 4, 2011 after a lengthy search for a well kept tan Deuce with a winch. She is a 1970 M35A2 Two & 1/2 Ton (Deuce) Military Truck made by AM General. The Deuce weighed in at 13,530 lbs stock and she carried a max payload of 10,000 lbs in her 8x12' bed.
She was originally powered by a LDT-465 engine made by White (478 cubic inch in-line 6 cylinder, turbocharged multifuel engine, 134 bhp, 330 lb-ft of torque).
I am the 3rd private citizen to own the Deuce after she was sold at a Government Liquidation auction on-line. The Deuce was previously modified by one of its previous owners - it was "singled out" by replacing the 10 OEM Non-Directional Tires (NDTs) with six 11.00R20 Michelin XLs. I have since bobbed/lifted the Deuce to mount 53 inch 16.00R20 Michelin XZL tires. Check out my progress on the modifications page. I look forward to many years with it...
